Boost your entrepreneurial projects by receiving coaching support from world-class academic experts, a financial prize and invaluable networking opportunities.
The Family Business Young Entrepreneurs Honors encourage young family business members in their entrepreneurial path.
In this third year of the Honors, the Family Business Network (FBN) is partnering with INSEAD to offer the winner:

- a leadership programme at INSEAD;
- world-class individual coaching support from top academic experts and leading managers;
- a cash prize;
- opportunities to present the winning project at the FBN International Summit, 27-29 October in Singapore, and at INSEAD’s Enterprise Day.
As a result, the winner will be better able to access the planning, financing and support that turn ideas into reality.
To apply, you will be:
- aged between 18 and 40, working on your own or in a team of young innovators;
- a member of a family business;
- in the creation- or launch-phase of an enterprising project;
- looking for recognition and practical support to boost your project.
How to apply?
- Fill in the online application form before 31st May.
- Your application will be evaluated by a panel of professionals.
- The winner will be selected by 30th June 2011.
What kind of project can win?
- The project should show innovation in at least one of the following areas: product, process, management and governance.
- The project can be either for-profit or not-for-profit
- The project should ideally contribute to the renewal or perpetuation of the family business (for example, on social, financial, and/or economic levels).
Examples of projects that could win
- Launch of new product / new branch
- Invention of a new patent
- Innovative way to solve issues
- New product-making process
- New organisation / management structure
- Launch of innovative marketing / communication
- And many other similar projects.
How will the projects be evaluated?
A panel of senior representatives of family businesses, young entrepreneurs and academics will evaluate projects against the following criteria:
- Innovation: degree of innovation.
- Family business orientation: how far the project contributes to renewal or perpetuation of the family business.
- Sustainability: impact on the business and outlook for long-term success.
- Impact: effect of the project on the immediate and wider environment and society.
- Quality and clarity of the project.
- Profile of the young entrepreneur: vision, enthusiasm, and perseverance shown.
